‘They Brought an Army to Take Out a 16-Year-Old Boy,’

http://gawker.com

On May 1, Atlanta-area police showed up to the home of Nick and Lisa Messina with riot shields, a sniper and an armored tank. Just over an hour later, that sniper, who was set up across the street in a neighbor's yard, shot and killed Andrew as he stood in a window at the front of the family's home.

Governmental Secrecy: Shield for Tyranny, Incompetence, and Corruption

An essential pillar of democracy is openness. There is no way that people can meaningfully participate in government, even if only by voting for representatives, if they do not have access to accurate information related to government operations. This was well understood by the founders of the US and embedded in the Bill of Rights. Conversely, a salient characteristic of undemocratic systems of all types, such as Czarist Russia, the Soviet Union, and Nazi Germany is a high degree of governmental secrecy.

Why the US Government Is Hated All Over the World

Something is wrong with the United States. I think most of us have noticed it. There is a mortal rot in the country, made manifest by many little rots that are hard to integrate mentally yet are, I think, somehow related. The change is grave, accelerating, probably irreversible, and fascinating. Things are not as they were.

They talk about it not being a way for grocery stores to increase profits -- pub owners and clubs however should benefit by the decreased cost difference.

These two prisoners were "lost in the system" and could not be located by anyone, anywhere. County officials had managed to hide them away and not even law enforcement officials could find them.
