We've all seen cute kids lip-syncing their favorite songs on YouTube. A new bill could make that illegal.
"I don't think you should go after little 8 year olds that are crying and singing Justin Bieber because it's their favorite person in the world," said YouTube Lip-syncer Cubby Squires.
U.S. Senate bill 978 would toughen copyright laws and make it illegal to upload lip-synced videos.

The major record labels are known for their harsh stance on copyright infringements, which in an ironic turn of events is now costing them millions of dollars. Revealing a double standard when it comes to ‘piracy’, Warner Music, Sony BMG Music, EMI Music and Universal Music now have to pay Canadian artists $45 Million for the illegal use of thousands of tracks on compilation CDs.
Read more »On Friday, U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer ruled that Internet subscribers have "no expectation of privacy" after giving their contact information to their ISP. The case in question specifically regarded alleged file-trading of a copyrighted movie, but establishes a long-reaching precedent for Internet users at large, since that would cover all forms of communications to or from any computer connected to an ISP to which its owner subscribes.

A hairdresser has been hit with a £1,500 bill for having a radio on while giving customers a trim.
Manager Neil Hull had bought a music licence from music royalties body, the Performing Rights Society (PRS), which he believed allowed him to play pop music in public.
However, a SECOND royalties collector, the Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL), told a court that he needed a further music licence from IT to put the radio or CDs on.
