A group of Iranian women have stripped off for a new video in a protest against sexual oppression in their native country. The ladies, who are living in exile in Europe, pose naked in front of the camera as they each deliver a defiant message.

Allegedly he posted a comprehensive list, ranking 50 of his female classmates. It apparently included some rather predictable criteria. There was allegedly a subjective bio of each girl, coupled with separate ratings for their faces and bodies and references to race, ethnicity, and alleged sexual behavior. There was also an indicator of whether their "stock" might be in the ascendancy or not.

That was the headline at least, in the New York Times. Then I read further. Apparently about 12,000 women per year (Per YEAR!!! On average!) get arrested for breastfeeding in public in the United States. Another 30,000 women per year get arrested for being "topless" under various "indecency" laws across many states in the US.

"In 2003, a survey of female veterans found that 30 percent said they were raped in the military. A 2004 study of veterans who were seeking help for post-traumatic stress disorder found that 71 percent of the women said they were sexually assaulted or raped while serving. And a 1995 study of female veterans of the Gulf and earlier wars, found that 90 percent had been sexually harassed."Another study concluded that 90% of all women serving are sexually harassed.
