Armed insurgency may have triumphed in the Algerian war of independence, the Chinese Revolution, and the anti-Soviet war in Afghanistan. These cases, among others, have convinced many observers that violent insurgency is likely to succeed. Moreover, insurgents often claim that they turn to violence as a last resort, having exhausted all other methods of seeking redress for their grievances.

How the US Crushed Youth Resistance: Traditionally, young people have energized democratic movements. So it is a major coup for the ruling elite to have created societal institutions that have subdued young Americans and broken their spirit of resistance to domination. Young Americans—even more so than older Americans—appear to have acquiesced to the idea that the corporatocracy can completely screw them and that they are helpless to do anything about it.

In the month of June 2011 alone, 26 peaceful people have been arrested at an approximate cost of $3000 per person per arrest to the tax payers of Orlando. Not including the cost of actually trying these people in court and the time of jurors. But since it’s not the OPD’s money, it yours, this is how they feel best to spend their time and your money.

On June 8th, 2011, five volunteers with the organization "Food Not Bombs" were arrested for the horrendous crime of sharing food with too many people within 2 miles of City Hall. As individuals, the police were professional and it was clear from their body language that they did not want to be there doing this. However, they do have proverbial mortgage to pay and on this day they did make the choice to be agents of tyranny. This brings the total number of people arrested for feeding the homeless up to 12 within the first week of the law's enforcement.
