Homeland Security Takes Down Live Streaming Sites before Super Bowl

This and other articles refer to takedowns of various sites that link to live streams of sporting events--not coincidentally, just before the Super Bowl. Many sites taken down aren't even in the United States, such as Rojadirecta.org, and none of them actually host the streams. Rojadirecta, in Spain, has even been ruled completely legal by Spanish courts. Yet, the heavy-handed US government continues to push its weight around the globe.

US Copyright Group Sues Lawyer for Aiding BitTorrent Defendants

This particular story hosted on OSNews, a popular site for emerging OS information troubled me so much, I had to create an account here to share this. Evidently, The US Copyright groups suing torrent users for allegedly downloading movies from bit-torrent sites, is now suing a lawyer for providing effective legal defense for Innocent victims of US Corporate hit squads. Evidently, the Legal firm representing Big Media threatened to double the fine of anyone who tries to defend themselves. Is this not the definition of Extortion?

Anonymous DDoS Takes Down The United States Copyright Office
