Police call for remote button to stop cars

http://www.guardian.co.uk

After speed cameras, road humps and mobile phone bans, there could be more bad news for Britain's motorists. Police are urging Ministers to give them the power to stop vehicles by remote control.

In what will be seen as yet another example of the in-creasing power of Big Brother, drivers face the prospect of their cars being halted by somebody pushing a button.

Senate Bill S510 Makes it illegal to Grow Food

http://foodfreedom.wordpress.com

If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.” ~Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada Health whistleblower

Video of Detroit raid that left 7yr old dead contradicts police report

http://news.yahoo.com

DETROIT – Police who carried out a raid on a family home that left a 7-year-old girl dead over the weekend were accompanied by a camera crew for a reality television show, and an attorney says video of the siege contradicts the police account of what happened.

Geoffrey Fieger, an attorney for the family of young Aiyana Jones, said he has seen three or four minutes of video of the raid, although he declined to say whether it was shot by the crew for the A&E series "The First 48," which has been shadowing Detroit homicide detectives for months.

U.S. rights group sues to protect right to swear

http://news.yahoo.com

An American rights group is suing the police in Pennsylvania for issuing tickets, which carry a jail sentence, to people for swearing.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which filed the lawsuits earlier, argues that the right to use profanity is protected by the U.S. Constitution.
"Unfortunately, many police departments in the commonwealth do not seem to be getting the message that swearing is not a crime," said Marieke Tuthill of the ACLU of Pennsylvania. "The courts have repeatedly found that profanity, unlike obscenity, is protected speech."

Doctor Is Busted For Walking?!!?

http://articles.courant.com

On March 31 he was headed home, on foot as usual, on the far left of South Road. A car came in his direction, which he judged was going too fast and not as far into the middle of the road as he would have liked. As the car approached, Dr. Walsh waved his arms "as I usually do just to make sure the driver can detect motion and see me more clearly." He said the driver saw him but still came within 18 inches of him.
