Juan Garcia's neighbor says he's a hero for going into her burning house in Farmers Branch to save her husband. But instead of a hero's award, Garcia said, what he got from the Farmers Branch police was an arrest on charges of public intoxication and assault, for touching a police officer.

Several months ago, as a way to prevent the use of cellular phones in criminal activities, the government of Mexico started a program to require all phone owners to register cell phones in their own names. The registry associates each phone with the listed owner's Clave Unica de Registro de Poblacion (CURP) [CURP, in English], which is supposed to be a unique ID for every Mexican citizen.

As some predicted, the term terrorist is being twisted to mean anyone that doesn't like what the US does. This CNN guy says dissent is treasonous.
