Ron Paul Introduces Industrial Hemp Farming Act, HR 1831

Nine States--Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Vermont, and West Virginia--allow industrial hemp production or research in accord with state laws. However, federal law is standing in the way of farmers in these states growing what may be a very profitable crop. Because of current federal law, all hemp included in products sold in the United States must be imported instead of being grown by American farmers.

Canadian Company Plans Car Made From Hemp

Calgary's Motive Industries announced it will introduce an electric car whose bio-composite body is made from cannabis.

Motive’s entry included exploring the use of a hemp-fibre composite that’s as strong as fibreglass, but lighter and less expensive.

The material will be used to replace other metal components, Armstrong said, except for the structural frame.

Neighbors legalize pot for themselves

“This is true democracy in action,” said Ned Sarmond, who organized the election and encouraged his fellow residents to cast a “Yes” vote. “We’re law-abiding citizens here, who were tired of feeling like criminals every time we lighted up.”
