Proposed WA gun law calls on police to inspect homes of gun owners

http://www.theblaze.com

Now, Democratic lawmakers in Olympia, Wash. last week introduced legislation that would allow county sheriffs to inspect the homes of semi-automatic rifle owners once a year. Seattle Times columnist Danny Westneat describes the move as “Orwellian.”

"Illegal" Camouflaged Residence found in California

http://news.yahoo.com

An elaborate and illegal camouflaged residence, outfitted with bunk beds and a barbecue patio, has been discovered near a Los Angeles County animal refuge.
Eight months ago, Robert Downs, 51, set up a small structure in the woods near the Tujunga Ponds Wildlife Sanctuary in Sunland, Calif. Government-mandated Low-flow toilets cause a stink in SF

http://www.sfgate.com

San Francisco's big push for low-flow toilets has turned into a multimillion-dollar plumbing stink. Skimping on toilet water has resulted in more sludge backing up inside the sewer pipes, said Tyrone Jue, spokesman for the city Public Utilities Commission. That has created a rotten-egg stench near AT&T Park and elsewhere, especially during the dry summer months.

Humans "Not Clever Enough" to Prevent Climate Change

http://www.guardian.co.uk

Respected British scientist James Lovelock claims that we need "a more authoritative world" in order to head off climate change, instead of an "egalitarian world where everyone can have their say." He cites war as an example of an instance where people's freedoms of choice are suspended, for the benefit of the greater population. Of course, governments don't start wars, do they?
