‘Unlawful’ Facebook posts mean prison time under Michigan law

An “unlawful post,” according to Michigan law (MCL 750.411s), is defined as a message through any medium of communication, including the Internet or other electronic medium, without the victim’s consent, if the posting could cause two or more separate unconsented contacts with the victim; posting the message is intended to cause conduct that would make the victim feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, harassed or molested and causes a reasonable person to suffer emotional distress.
