Bill Gates, Toshiba in early talks on nuclear reactor

Toshiba may team up with Bill Gates to develop small nuclear reactors. The reactors could work for about 100 years without refueling. They could be launched fairly easily by states and cities. They provide emission-free energy. You probably remember the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The Chernobyl plant was a graphite core reactor, but it was HUGE!

And it was run under socialism, so there is no way to know what the state of their maintenance was.

The US navy has been using graphite core reactors with complete safety in every submarine and ship. They are all much, much smaller, physically, and therefore easier to control.

There are lots of safe nuclear designs, it's the government that must be gotten out of the way to allow them to be built.
