California's Legislature is considering a bill that would make it the first state to legalize marijuana for recreational use as well. It is unlikely to pass this year, but Gray and other advocates hope to have a proposition on the November ballot that would legalize marijuana use for anyone 21 or older.

California Cannabis Act

Prohibition is a sickening horror and the ocean of human wreckage it has left in its wake is almost endless. I really hope the California Cannabis Act DOES go before voters as a ballot initiative, and I hope it passes. Prohibitions, historically, never work - they just don't, and the thing it does is enrich criminals and create |more need for prisons - and then citizens end up needing payday advances for lawyers to defend themselves in court. We should legalize marijuana completely - medical marijuana has benefits, and it's obvious that there's a need for it - and supply will always meet demand. Not forgetting the idiotic nature of government to tell people what they may or mayn't do within the privacy of their own homes, if they aren't hurting anybody.
