Slowly but inevitably we are heading towards complete legalization of marijuana. I for one am getting tired of the facade. We risk our lives, spend thousands of hours and billions of dollars investigating marijuana only to see the justice system demean our efforts by handing down ridiculously low sentences and then pass laws which further hamper our crime fighting efforts and bolster the criminals' abilities to operate. We supposedly go after the "bigger fish" and alleviate penalties for "personal use". Have they ever heard of the concept of supply and demand? Let's just legalize it outright and drop the farce. We can then move onto crime fighting which is worthwhile and the government can collect more taxes. The courts would likely clear up their overloaded dockets as well. Win/win. I see no point in enforcing laws which the society and the judicial do not care about. " A LEAP member perhaps?
