At current metal prices it costs 2.4 cents to make a penny and 11.2 cents to make a nickel. This week President Obama asked Congress for permission to change the mix of metal that goes into these coins, because apparently the zinc and tinfoil they’re made of now is just too expensive.

In 1964, the value of the government's money dropped below that of silver, so the silver was replaced with copper. In 1982, the value of a penny dropped below that of copper, so the copper was replaced with zinc. Now even zinc is considered "too valuable" for money? We're at the point where compressed dogshit is about their last option, and then the government's money will have finally reached its intrinsic value.
