According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, symptoms of Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) are;
• A pattern of negativistic, hostile and defiant behavior lasting at least six months
during which four or more of the following are present:
• Often loses temper
• Often argues with adults
• Often actively defies or refuses to comply with adults’ requests or rules
• Often deliberately annoys people
• Often blames others for his/her mistakes or misbehavior
• Is often touchy or easily annoyed by others
• Is often angry and resentful
• Is often spiteful and vindictive
This information is often paraphrased to include "disregard for authority," and now Alex Jones has insisted it includes "free thinkers" - but this is rubbish. Though oft misdiagnosed, ODD is a real condition.
If you have a look at the DSMIV's description of Antisocial Personality Disorder; "...a pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others that begins in childhood or early adolescence and continues into adulthood." So, assuming adult onset of Antisocial Personality Disorder is not considered "normal," politicians can also now be "...considered mentally ill and can be thrown in a prison-like mental institution under tax payers dollars." - right Alex?
