I actually read today's newspaper that Doug Suttles, BP Exploration and Production Chief Operation Offer, gave an interview about the oil spill. This interview may not have given him the PR he was probably anticipating. He claims that technologies on oil spill cleanup has not enhanced simply because there has been a lack of need for it making it not advance. Apparently Suttles has slept through the last dozen large oil spills which should have advanced technology. Furthermore, it shouldn't matter if the need is there; all of us know BP wouldn't need to take out an installment loan to study cleanup methods just to be safe.
