(Johanna Blakley at TEDxUSC 2010) Fashion, along with other "low-IP" markets like perfumes, comedy, food, furniture, and magic, is generally unencumbered by patents and copyrights. All of these industries enjoy perpetually rapid innovation, and their gross sales tend to dwarf "high-IP" markets. Maybe it's time to rethink supporting monopoly protection within *your* industry.
