"Feminism"

Liam Dempsey 1 year 20 weeks 1 day 5 hours ago

Yeahhh baby! I love this woman! For forty years I have put up with tyranny from nasty, self-righteous, entitled, victim loving creeps known as feminists. The world could use more women like this truth seeker. It simply baffles me how any woman who refers to herself as libertarian could identify herself a feminist, when individualism is more align with the liberty movement. Feminism is nothing more than left-wing cultural Marxism... and I have those aforementioned forty years of verbal abuse, physical abuse, and loss of my career, and life savings, as evidence. This beautiful individual gives me hope!

Maybe Some Views Depend on Geography of Birth

Whereas I agree with the author very much, I think that if her experience observing the dichotomy of human value in males versus females were made in some countries other than the United States (China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc), she might have a different point of view of how women are viewed by the majority. It goes beyond the de jure rights of women in other countries, which place them below men in politics -- these regressive cultures see women de facto as less than men in many ways. Selective abortions in China, the shunning of women who have abortions and unavailability of abortion in many countries, open beatings of women as forms of discipline, etc. all indicate a point of view which sees women as more of a nuisance or an animal rather than a person of equal rights, deserving equal opportunity. Admittedly, I am picking out examples of countries in which there is yet no real ground-swelling of feminism to date. I think that feminism is compatible with libertarianism, as extolled in books like "Women in Liberty" (http://www.amazon.com/Liberty-Women-Freedom-Feminism-Century/dp/15666343...) and others. However, I agree that traditional (and even modern) mainstream feminism tends to project men below women in various respects, as the author describes.
