Flint decriminalization of marijuana vote only 'symbolic;' arrests will continue

FLINT, MI -- Flint police will continue to arrest people for marijuana possession despite a ballot proposal that voters approved Tuesday, Nov. 6, to decriminalize the drug, according to a statement released by the city Wednesday.

It has been recently announced in the Toronto Star, that the Canadian penalties for having as little as six pot plants will guarantee that you go to jail for a minimum of six months. Our Conservative Federal gov't has recently passed an omnibus bill that gets tough on crime, bringing in minimum penalties that judges cannot overrule by their own discretion and totally ignore mitigating circumstances. They are also planning on building more jails...and at present have plans to put more prisoners in the same cell.
