Meet Deputy Sawyer (Atlanta Courthouse - "His Property...")

His only intention on July 1 was to pay a ticket for an expired car tag -- after calling in advance -- but when he found the courthouse already closed at 2:39 in the afternoon on a holiday weekend -- he decided to videotape some of the other upset citizens who had wasted an afternoon trying to conduct official business in a public building that was supposed to be open for business.

More disturbing was the hostility and abuse of power demonstrated by law enforcement officers with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department, who illegally ordered Hackworth off the property. Not only was well within his rights to be there, but in fact as the recipient of a traffic ticket was legally required to be there.

It actually is "police property" because they are municipal corporations, not state government buildings. Their power is not defined in most state constitutions and so they abuse that fact. They could care less where their money comes from. They can use their guns, you can't. Another reason why the people need to stand up and re-write their state constitutions. Or move to New Hampshire and do it.
