In 2004, the hottest new fashion to wear while killing "terrorists" was the US military's "Digital Camouflage." At the cost of $5B US, the US military forced its adoption in all branches of service, replacing the former "woodland" and "desert" camouflage, but not before running it through layers of bureaucracy and compromise. The result, say bureaucrats and consultants alike, was a complete waste of money that failed in every combat application. It, in effect, "shows [the enemy] where to shoot."
