Government bureaucracy forced this situation and yet the business owner is penalized. The funeral director was called by law enforcement to remove a body that had been found in a home in the summer. By law, he couldn't cremate or bury the body without authorization from next of kin or an official with the county DSS, who would not return his calls. The state medical examiner's office refused to take the body. The body was sent to a crematory for cold storage, but the odor was so bad they brought it back the next day. A worker from the crematory put the body in the back of an older-model hearse parked on the funeral home's property.
