Shoot first, think of a question to ask later.

I had a gun pulled on me when I was a kid for a wooden sword. A wooden sword that my friends and I were play-fighting with. A wooden sword the cop that was sitting there watching us for at least 40 minutes saw was harmless, and decided to threaten us anyway. It's not exactly the same thing, but it goes to show ya: moral of the story is if they can "justify*" their actions, they can get away with anything.
* -- Justify means offering any reason better than "I dunno... 'Cause."**
** -- Maybe not even any better than that.
Identify before shoot dammit!
