New residents get threat letter after moving to a community!

My family and I recently moved to West Michigan and I just got this letter in the mail. The letter is signed by a handful of local big-shots and law enforcement types. I was more than a little put off by the tone and rhetoric contained in this thinly veiled THREAT to my freedom and property. Not only are they all but promising to separate me from my property and limit my freedoms, but they had the balls to also ask me to sign a "pledge" saying I will obey. The blank pledge card, front and back, is part of the PDF. The glossy happy looking well produced piece is more than happy to explain to me why I might be considered a P.O.S. parent if I were to decide FOR MYSELF to allow my own kid to have something they deem inappropriate.

I placed this link on google documents and put it on FTL for my buddy jfbrande who is moving to Portage, MI and received this even before he closed on his house. My wife and I are trying to move to NH next year...all the more reason to move. It is scary when you see stuff like this come out and have people stand up for it and cheer. People just love to put the clamps down on "the public" and never realize that they are actually doing it to themselves. Crazy

Oh yes, I will be ignoring it. I have to admit though, I am a little worried that this is just a first glimpse into how this city intends to conduct it's goverance. Make the people afraid of you and they will be easier to control.
