Now that a proposed location in the Slate Belt has been rejected, a federal detention center for illegal immigrants could find a home among the farms of Warren County.

Harmony Township officials said Friday they have expressed interest to federal authorities to be considered for the possible location of the detention center. The GEO Group, the company behind the proposal, approached municipal officials about a month ago, officials said.
