Parents have 6th Grader Arrested for Taking Mother's Jewelry to School

http://www.newsherald.com

A sixth grader takes his mother's jewelry to school and gives it to some friends. It is $7,000 of jewelry, and when contacted, the stepfather "was animate about pressing charges". The kid was handcuffed and taken to juvy.

The real story lies in the bootlicking first few comments. Amazing that people are GLAD that the police got involved.

Parents have 6th Grader Arrested

libertylover 3 years 6 weeks 2 days 18 hours ago

When my Mother was a teacher she had a little 4th grade boy give her one of his Mother's rings. My Mother returned it no question to the parents and they all talked to the little boy. He felt bad because his parents said they couldn't afford to buy, my Mother, his teacher a Christmas present and the other kids were teasing him about being poor. It is possible this little boy was attempting to do what governments do all over the world buy friends with stolen property. I also think until a kid is working and earning money they don't really have a total grasp on just how much things cost. A real Father would not have had his kid arrested for this. And shame on the Mother for going along with such a stupid heavy handed way of solving the problem. Now if the kid had done this before and knew better or charging him was the only way to get the property back. So those he gave it to could be charged with accepting stolen property. Then and only then would an arrest have been an option. And that only after civil court remedies had not been successful.
