In Holland, Santa doesn't have elves. He has blackface helpers named "Zwarte Piet" (Black Pete). An artist who has been active protesting the racist tradition was peppersprayed, tackled, and arrested for wearing a t-shirt proclaiming "Zwarte Piet is Racism."
