Police get facial-recognition iphone app

http://www.popsci.com

It appears that the police in Brockton, Mass. have a new crime-fighting/privacy-invading tool to use against anyone they find 'reasonable cause' to stop. This iPhone app lets an officer take a quick photo of a suspect/citizen and, using facial recognition software, pull up info from their own database. This database consists of known criminals and anyone they have stopped in the past with this app, building a huge store of bio-metric information.

I personally believe that this is a form of Totalitarianism/Confucianism whereby they require you to submit to their rule/governance and integrate this as an acceptable ritual that protects us and only gets the 'bad guys'.
