Mainstream News = Free PR for Cops

This article has one of my largest pet peeves with mainstream news: a huge bias on behalf of government agents. Take this, for example:

Police say officers were looking to arrest 41-year-old Alberto Colon when the weapon of Officer Andrew McCormack weapon accidently fired and struck Colon's 76-year-old father in the stomach

Whoa! You have to watch those weapons. They're tricky bastards, always firing by themselves. If it were anyone other than a police officer involved, you'd see something like this:

While performing a service call to Alberto Colon's house, Andrew McCormack allegedly shot Colon's father in the stomach with a 9mm semiautomatic handgun.

If Alberto wasn't home (he was picked up later in the week), why was anyone's finger inside a trigger guard?
