Misleading

Surely I'm not the only one who believes Rand is pandering in order to win the race. Saying the 'wrong' thing will get him annihilated. Saying he's against the drug-war would be his demise, yet being for the drug-war would be a lie. He has to take some middle-ground in order to win. That's the game, and he's making necessary strategic moves................ His opponent is a hard-liner pro-drug-war madman, and his gang wants to find anything they can to make Rand look bad. This article is a perfect example of how this works............... Though I wish he was as honest as his father, I'd rather see him in Senate than his opponent, without a doubt. Then he can show his true colors. He's in this race to win, so he has to play politician, and despite how unfortunate that is, I don't blame him.

...actually suggests that his opponent is the true drug warrior in the race (even getting the endorsement from the po-po). i mean, there are plenty of things to bash paul for, especially if you're a hardliner, but the whole story is about how paul would like to DE-ESCALATE the drug war and get it out of the hands of the feds. if you just want to hate on politics/politicians, that's fine. i don't even disagree with you. but pulling out that one quote to make paul sound like some crazy, rabid, fascist neocon is more than just a little dishonest.

Typical

Just another Neocon in libertarian clothing. Nothing to see here. Move along.

While its disappointing Rand

While its disappointing Rand has that view, he also has made it clear he wants to shrink the drug war both by cutting the budget and lowering the penalties involved. His opponent Conrad is actually attacking Rand Paul based on his "soft on drug crimes" attitude. So, clearly Rand's position is not the typical hard-line Republican one.
