After all, it's of life-and-death importance that the commercials are exactly the same volume (whatever that means) as the show. It's a bona fide federal issue! I'm sure once they solve this problem, the economy will improve from the sheer momentum of this tremendous act. In fact, I look forward to beaming with pride the first time our proud FCC bureaucrats blow $10 Million dragging some network affiliate to court over a discrepancy of ten decibels. THAT should fix the economy right there! I'm sure it'll create a new cottage industry of FCC violations management, and they'll make us all rich. After all, it will increase the GNP, and we don't have to worry so much about fleeting expletives any more, so we have to make progress and mold society somewhere else. Progress! Soon we'll surely be paging through the mandatory reports generated by the machines which automatically adjust the volumes for our tender ears. No one will ever get tinnitus again! We'll have documentation to prove it!
