Soda pop tax didn't change behavior: fail

States that put a "sin" tax on soda pop products, have found that child obesity rates haven't changed; at all.
Looks like they'll just have to make the tax higher. Turns out, taxes don't automatically change behavior.

Before you freak out and get payday loans to hire a tax attorney and an accountant, it is on the 1040 A and also the 1040 EZ forms, so you won't have to order one from the IRS. If you're claiming the Making Work Pay tax credit, you will have to fill out a Schedule M form. (Besides, why aren't you E-filing? It is free, and easier than using paper – and also environmentally friendly and doesn't use stamps.) It is only $400 for individuals, and $800 for couples and most of the work is already done for you, provided you qualify for the credit.
