Spain's Public Health Care ranked 7th Best System in world

http://www.npr.org

Now that Mark and Ian have fervently fearmongered with their scathing report about the UK heath care system and for the record, I have zillions of Brit friends and this that article was not the norm. So, please provide another viewpoint please because Americans are not getting a fair perspective and will end up rejecting anything that even resembles socialized medicine based on false info. There is a 4 minute radio clip from NPR you can play on the air. Thanx, luv you! Signed ApocaLisaNow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Health_Organization_ranking_of_health...

It developed a series of performance indicators to assess the overall level and distribution of health in the populations, and the responsiveness and financing of health care services.

Seems to me that overall level of health in a population is not a good indicator of the effectiveness of delivery of services. The last two indicators are good for ranking a health care system. The financing part is probably what sets socialist systems above the US, since whatever service is approved will be financed. The approval system will be a bit murkier to rank because it's more subjective as to whether a certain service is absolutely necessary over another service. Other rankings have the US very high in effectiveness but also very high in wastefulness. The waste comes from all the insurance middlemen and restricted markets leading to high prices and lots of price gouging. The US system would fare better, IMO, by freeing up the market, not just the insurance market, but the delivery market. The health care delivery market is where the real bottleneck is.

And this is what Free Market Health Care can look like

when ever governments decided to allow us to be free.

Imagine that...

Imagine that, an organization (the WHO) which was formed by a group of governments thinks a certain government controlled health care system is just peachy. I am supposed to be impressed?
