I believe this statistic generally. However I have found no other reliable source for this claim. Can any on verify this or how he used the data to come up with the statistic?

I'm having difficulty finding the actual statistics on this claim. Can any one help me out? I find this story copy and pasted throughout the web, but I cant actually find these numbers on the FBI uniform crime report. Any help would be appreciated.

I found the website where the cop-related data came from (not the FBI). It has quite a bit more information and it appears quite reliable.
