This is a video (out now) and book (coming soon) on the production cycle, from extraction to disposal. The video is simple and cartoonish and obviously made to reach kids. Would love for the FTL guys to watch it and spend a segment or two commenting on it as it comtains some truth, and some not-so-truths.
Some particularly appalling quotes from the video are, "it's the government's job to watch out for us and to take care of us..that's their job."
"Extraction is a fancy word for natural resource exploitation, which is a fancy word for trashing the planet", according to the video.
It also kind of ties in with the whole Avatar theme discussed in the past few weeks.
