Mark Denicore and his wife appeared in court in Loudoun County Monday morning for allegedly failing to get their three children to school on time. According to Loudoun County Public Schools, between one and 30 minutes late is tardy. The Denicore children have been tardy at least 30 times this year alone -- almost one out of every three days, according to Wayde Byard, of the school district. It falls under the state’s truancy code. The Denicores’ trial date is March 14. The violation is a Class 3 misdemeanor.

Tardiness is disruptive to the class

You stated that the mother is a "stay at home mom" and yet she's consistently late taking her kids to school. If a child arrives at school "after the bell", it's going to take at least another couple minutes to get them seated, books out, etc. So we should all these folks to impact the rest of the families on a regular basis because lawyer mom doesn't like the drop-off line wait? Can't she set her clock ahead 10 minutes so the kids might even be early? Rules are rules...you don't have to send your kid to class, you can home school, but if you choose public education, then you have to follow the guidelines, or it impacts everyone else. This sounds like a couple of elitist lawyers who think that the rules don't apply to them or their progeny. At best, they're teaching their kids that the societal rules mean nothing to them, they're for the the "little people". It's not too much to ask for folks involved in a group activity to be on time. That's a rule you can get behind.
