Folks, I have to tell you that most of my german fellows, including some MSM here, fell over the news like frenzy sharks. :-) I rarely seen so much hatred toward the familiy and the US Judge before. For you to understand what really happend, you need to know that Germany has not only a public school system, but one that coerces every child from age 6 to at least 9 years of attending public schools. Coercion in that case means, literal, that you will be forced to attend school, if needed by police. As parents, if you prevent your kids from going to school, or just have them decide, you can loose the right of parenting worst case. By the way the german public school law originated in 1919 and the coercion was put in place 1938, which was, as you can figure, during the Hitler regime. The than stated reason was to shape and mold the german youth into good Nazis. The familiy that now got political asylum has a fundamental christian background on which it denied to send their kids to, what they think is an unchristian environment. I don't care what reason one has to disobey the Leviathan, it is almost always just. But can you imagine us germans, being super-democratic-citizens now, get told by an US Judge we violate (in which he his sure right) basic human rights. That hurts. :-) Anyway, folks with fundamental libertarian ideas like me, even if much rarer in Germany than the US, where enjoying the savage furor that broke loose yesterday in the german media and, especially the comments.
