USPS sees $8.5 billion loss, warns Congress it'll be broke by 2011

The financially troubled U.S. Postal Service reported an $8.5 billion loss in the fiscal year that ended in September and said it will run out of money in 2011 if economic conditions don't improve and Congress doesn't act.

why are they crying to congress? Second couldn't they ship their own gas in from a middle eastern nation and save a lot? The USPS delivers on saturday thats gotta cost something plus they have people working the lines on holidays, couldnt that save some loot? It might be cheaper to feed horses.

They should give the USPS a monopoly on email, and charge 50¢ per message. That would surely bring things into the black!
