A lot of grumbling about unemployment goes on, but not much about underemployment. Yes, unemployment is horrible – I don't need to say that and no one needs to tell you that. A lot of people I know have had to resort to freelancing in whatever capacity they had to in order to bring in a little money, when their 9 to 5 job left them out to dry, and the job market is pretty dismal. I've had neighbors get foreclosed on – heck, I've almost though about getting payday loans myself. You have to work hard at freelancing wherever you get the opportunity to, but you can survive with it.
