Clear Creek sheriff's deputies on Thursday arrested a rafting guide for swimming to a stranded young rafter who had tumbled from his boat on Clear Creek.

Ryan Daniel Snodgrass, a 28-year-old guide with Arkansas Valley Adventures rafting company, was charged with "obstructing government operations," said Clear Creek Sheriff Don Krueger.

You committed no crime, but an officer is knocking on your door. More Minnesotans are surprised to find themselves being locked up over debts. "The law enforcement system has unwittingly become a tool of the debt collectors," said Michael Kinkley, an attorney in Spokane, Wash., who has represented arrested debtors. "The debt collectors are abusing the system and intimidating people, and law enforcement is going along with it."

Federal Taxes add $64 to a $300 airline ticket, a tax of 21%. These taxes and fees include:the federal ticket tax, flight segment fees, airport passenger facility charges (PFCs) and a federal security surcharge. The airlines claim the total of these charges amount to virtually punitive treatment of the industry. This guy thinks they should shut up, and stop complaining.

A businessman is under fire for buying tiny parcels of land so he can sell or lease them for inflated prices to people who thought they owned them.

In one case, Guthrie businessman Ron Edwards is demanding four Edmond condominium owners pay him $80,000 for a shared driveway he bought for $1,584 at a county auction.

"I thought I made a decent offer,” Edwards said.

The owners haven't paid, so Edwards blocked their driveway with concrete highway barriers last month.
