ARIZONA POLICE TO BEGIN ARRESTING "ILLEGALS"

http://online.wsj.com

Arizona lawmakers on Tuesday passed one of the toughest pieces of immigration-enforcement legislation in the country, which would make it a violation of state law to be in the U.S. without proper documentation. It would also grant police the power to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal.

Safety or Fee Mining? What is the purpose of the Highway Patrol?

I was in New Hampshire's Sullivan County district court today to respond to a traffic arrest from February. I was not told, and did not know exactly what kind of proceeding I was involved with.

Rather than give the whole shebang away, I thought I'd relay these two salient observations:

1) I was the only person ( out of about 15 or so ) to plead "Not Guilty."
2) My fees & fines ( for not having my papers in order ) are higher than driving 99 mph in a 65 zone.

If you're interested, I'll try to call in.

Toyota and the Union-Backed, Government-Led Witch Hunt

http://biggovernment.com

Toyota, which employs over 35,000 workers in the United States with factories in eight states, is the target of a government-led and union-supported attack due to recent recalls.
In the U.S., it is estimated that 15,000 Lexus HS250h and 133,000 Prius models will be recalled due to gas pedal issues, with another 500,000 Prius and other gasoline-electric hybrids needing anti-brake software modification. As unfortunate and inconvenient as recalls can be, this not the first, or last time an automobile will need to be brought back to the shop for a quick fix.

Dissatisfaction with Federalism Grows

http://www.abc.net.au

-Dissatisfaction with Federalism Grows-

aka "Obey all directives"

When a State disagrees with a Federal program, what's the solution? Apparently in Australia, abolition of the State is the logical next step.

According to "polls", 4 out of 10 Australians would have no problem living under one unchecked Federal Government.

It's a worrying trend and something we should all shudder to consider. When the institutions of dissent are removed, what will become of our precious liberties?

With parallels to the US State vs. Federal friction, this is could set an alarming precedent.

Early Dora episodes were a good learning tool when my daughter was 9-14 months old. I already started to dislike the shows when they started going all out with the fantasy show/movies but this is way to much for me.

Look man, I have a kid now. These things are important to me.
