A pregnant woman suffered a miscarriage due to rough treatment by Clayton County authorities who were enforcing a local dog ordinance, the woman's attorney said Tuesday. Police said at the time of her March 3 arrest that Youhoing-Nanan, 43, had violated a Clayton ordinance prohibiting anyone from keeping more than five dogs over four months of age.

A US federal appeals court says three Seattle police officers were justified when they used a stun gun on a pregnant mother who refused to sign a traffic ticket.
Malaika Brooks was driving her son to school in 2004 when she was stopped for exceeding the speed limit.
The officers used a Taser three times when she refused to get out of her car.
A panel of judges ruled 2-1 the officers were justified in using force because Brooks could have picked her keys up off the floor, started the car and driven away.

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) has begun an unofficial “diversity survey” of Fortune 500 companies and has told the companies that if they do not participate in the survey, he will make their names public.
