A student in Tel Aviv parked her car on Sunday in a legal, unmarked space. But when Hila Ben Baruch returned, her car was gone, and her spot was marked with a handicapped symbol. In disbelief, Ben Baruch did some amateur sleuthing, recovering security footage from a camera mounted on the building across the street. The now-viral video, which Ben Baruch posted on her Facebook page, shows city workers painting lines around her parked car, towing it away and then painting a handicapped symbol in the empty spot.

SEATTLE -- Cars are becoming more and more fuel-efficient, and you would think that's a good thing. But Washington state is actually losing money because of it and as a result, the state is now considering a "pay-by-mile" tax. The state predicts gas tax collected today won't add up to enough cash to pay for future road projects. Drivers of fuel-efficient cars are spending less at the pump, which means they are paying less in gas tax while driving the same amount of miles.

The defendant HOA is governed by a board of directors. Prior to the events at issue, the board had established a security department for the development, bought vehicles for the department, fitted the vehicles with oscillating and flashing lights, radar units and audio/video recording equipment. The board adopted a speed limit of 25 mph for all the association's roads. Since violation of the Association's rules is not an "offense" justifying restraint, the plaintiff was entitled to summary judgment on his claim for false imprisonment.

DOT (Department of Transportation) a.k.a. truck police, are the armed tax collectors who specifically harass tuckers, landscapers and basically any one who may drive in a "commercial looking truck". I avoid DOT when ever I can, because even if everything goes well it is going to be an hour or 2 with the truck inspection.

"In Florida, a person's right and liberty to use a highway is not absolute; it may be regulated in the public interest through reasonable and reasonably executed regulations." The judges found it was reasonable for Fanueil to set regulations for use of the road -- including the types of acceptable payment.
