Not to be outdone by their Missouri comrades, the Democrats in Minnesota have introduced their own gun confiscation bill, HF 241 (Minnesota was actually first I believe). This bill would basically outlaw anything other than a revolver, bolt action rifle, or musket with its all inclusive list of what constitutes an "assault weapon". California's computer problems, which have already cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars, have mounted as state officials cut short work on a $208-million DMV technology overhaul that is only half done. The project was intended to revamp the process for registering vehicles and issuing driver's licenses, with the entire overhaul scheduled to be finished this year. But state officials said they were canceling the vehicle registration component because little progress was being made. The decision is a setback for the Department of Motor Vehicles, which has a history of such stumbles.

A ban on high capacity magazines, arbitrarily defined as being capable of holding more than 15 rounds, was passed by the Colorado legislature today on a voice vote. House Bill 13-1224 was sponsored by Rhonda Fields (D-Aurora) whose description of her reasons for introducing the Bill made it clear that it is an emotional response to a tragic event. But leveraging the basic rights of peaceful Coloradans as her therapy.

DETROIT - Local 4 Defenders have learned that in Detroit in the last two weeks, nearly ten crimes have been reported involving men posing as police officers. The latest incident, Thursday morning, resulted in the shooting death of a 35-year-old woman and critical wounding of her 12-year-old sister. Those attackers remain at large.

Retired Detroit police detective Tom Berry said in some cases, the police impersonators stop cars on the street.
