Perhaps the most noteworthy G20 Toronto story that got attention was the story of "Officer Bubbles," the name given to a police officer, named Adam Josephs, who threatened to arrest a woman for assault if the bubbles she was blowing landed on him.
Officer Bubbles became a bit of an internet phenomenon, and others built on it, as normally happens in internet memes. Apparently, one person made cartoon versions of Officer Bubble arresting various famous people, such as President Obama and Santa Claus. Because of that, Officer Adam Josephs has now filed a $1.2 million defamation lawsuit.

A Washington County man who was asleep in the back of a cab claims he was shocked with a Taser because he "shushed" a state trooper when the man tried to wake him.
Phillip S. Chappel, 29, of Washington, filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against the state police, as well as Trooper Jeffrey Osrodowski, claiming the officer had no reason to take aggressive action against him.

Here is the video of Mr. Derrick, a motorist tased by police from the Columbia Missouri police department after just 23 seconds! He was stopped for allegedly having no front license plate. He was tasered 23 seconds later. He asked why he was stopped - the policeman responded that he had no license (false - it was in the police officer's hand). The policeman signalled that he smelled marijuana (touched his nose - the other officer shook his head, indicating that he did not smell marijuana. Mr. Derrick was tasered, beaten, maced and arrested. Why? Resisting Arrest!

A man has died after suffering horrific burns in an incident when he was "Tasered" by a police officer while doused in a flammable liquid. Police were called to the home of 32-year-old Andrew Pimlott in Plymouth following a domestic disturbance and told that he was in the garden and had a can of flammable liquid with him. An officer discharged a Taser and, according to eye witnesses, Pimlott was seen "fully on fire from top to bottom". One of the police officers jumped on him to try to put out the flames.

"It is my constitutional right to be here without prior approval," Chase said to the officer at one point.

"Your constitutional rights have nothing to do with the law," the officer said.

"If you don't have a permit, you're trespassing," the officer said. He ignored Ocean City's laws before he ever filed his lawsuit, selling his paintings along the boardwalk before the ban.

"Mark is very adamant about his rights," said his mother, Deborah Chase.

As Jones repeated, "I didn't know you were a police officer," Officer Philip Sprague and his partner, Officer Russell Seiberlich, threw her to the ground and handcuffed her, according to the lawsuit. Another cop who came as backup, Officer Chris Manigault, then shot Jones with a stun gun each time she screamed for help - more than seven times - upon Sprague's order, according to the lawsuit. She miscarried a few weeks later, her attorney, James E. Lee, said.

According to the Dallas Morning News, on Monday afternoon a Fort Worth police officer used his Taser to subdue a 19-year-old man dressed as "Lady Liberty" when he refused to comply with an order. Liberty was allegedly standing on a median, soliciting customers for Liberty Tax Services. Attempting to gain control of [Liberty], the arresting officer shot him in the small of his back, which allegedly had no effect. He was tased a second time in the forehead and below his left ear before police could place him under arrest.

A lawsuit was recently filed seeking damages against the Bradenton Beach Police Department after a former patrol officer made a felony battery arrest on a 14-year-old boy who blew a kiss at him.
