World food prices hit a new record high in January after rising for a seventh consecutive month, the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) said Thursday, warning the poor would be hit hardest.

The FAO Food Price Index, which monitors monthly price changes for a basket of commodities, averaged 231 points in January -- up 3.4 percent from December and its highest level since FAO started measuring food prices in 1990.

A ridiculous story regarding the American Pediatrics Acadmeny and their push for more mandates on food packaging. Due to the fact that approximately 100 kids per year, die as a result of choking, The APA is pushing for manufacturers to be required to post choking hazard warnings on their food labels. The story goes on to instruct parents to cut their children's foods up into "pea sized bites" to ensure their safety while eating things such as grapes and apples. I say we just throw it all in a blender and feed them hot dog puree from a straw.
