A woman who was pepper sprayed during during a raid on Occupy Seattle last week is blaming police after she miscarried Sunday.Jennifer Fox, 19, told The Stranger that she had been with the Occupy protests since they started in Westlake Park. She said she was homeless and three months pregnant, but felt the need to join activists during their march last Tuesday.

Pregnant woman jailed for having thought about abortion

This story is almost too hard to believe, but it is indeed true: A pregnant woman in Iowa was jailed for "attempted feticide" because she told hospital staff she once thought about having an abortion.

Daily News @ http://RevolutionNews.US — (AUSTIN, TX) If you disrupted class or used profanity back in school, you were probably sent to the principal's office. Today in Texas, more students are being sent to criminal court instead.

Last February a student at Fulmore Middle School says she received a ticket for "disruption of class" after spraying perfume on herself.

"I didn't do anything wrong," said 13-year-old Sarah, who was in the sixth grade at the time she was ticketed. "I thought I didn't smell good and the next thing you know, the whole class complains for no reason."

Thrown in jail for getting pregnant? That seems like a particularly absurd violation of women's reproductive rights. But it's actually an established policy in Allegheny County, PA. Cara reports at the Curvature that, for Amy Lynn Gillespie, becoming pregnant meant violating the terms of her work release under probation, and getting thrown in jail. Yet this story comes to an even more tragic ending, because Gillespie died while in custody from advanced pneumonia.
