St. George Police Sergeant James Kuehnlein was fired because of the bad publicity generated by the incident captured by the taping system that Brett Darrow, 23, installed in his 1997 Nissan Maxima. On Saturday, St. Louis County Police stopped Darrow once again.

A Waterloo Iowa man is killed by police upon returning home from a night out. His wife did not appreciate the fact that he was drunk so called the police to ask him to sleep elsewhere. The couple was not engaged in a fight, she just wanted him to leave because she had to work in the morning. The encounter ended in bloodshed. The officer responsible for the death of the man has returned to duty.

As the officer handcuffed the compliant motorist, the officer explained, "I don’t like someone with a gun," while insisting, "You’re not under arrest."

The second statement is an unalloyed lie: Whenever a police officer restrains someone, that person is under arrest. The first statement is a lie by omission: If Pierson had been a police officer, Bassett would not have complained about him carrying a gun.
