Stan Garret wrote a letter to US District Attorney John Walsh asking the government to “back away” from Colorado dispensaries that are in compliance with state and local laws. While the letter is unlikely to influence federal policy, it does demonstrate that Colorado is takings its MMJ statutes seriously.

Kane County Sheriff’s police assigned a deputy to Mill Creek Elementary School near Geneva Thursday after a disturbance at the school Wednesday when a parent complained children weren’t reciting the Pledge of Allegiance correctly, officials said. That evening, the same parent emailed school board members, administrators and some parents in the community, and also posted a message on Facebook, claiming Mill Creek students state the Pledge of Allegiance incorrectly, leaving out the word “liberty,” among other claims, according to district officials.

The town’s postal unit has cut its hours to a mere 30 minutes per day, sparking outrage from the rural community’s 563 residents that has now caught the attention of the state’s two U.S. Senators. The Postal Service announced in May that instead of eliminating up to 3,700 post offices, it would instead reduce their hours of operation from 8 hours per day to between 2 and 4 hours, but only after holding community meetings.

Imagine you own a million-dollar piece of property free and clear, but then the federal government and local law enforcement agents announce that they are going to take it from you, not compensate you one dime, and then use the money they get from selling your land to pad their budgets—all this even though you have never so much as been accused of a crime, let alone convicted of one.

A video featuring many celebrities has been produced in which they all pledge to do something positive for mankind/the planet/the world/the president. Anthony Kiedis (Red Hot Chili Peppers) pledges to "be of service to President Obama", and Demi Moore ends the video with, "I pledge to be a servant to our president". Whoa, pretty scary stuff!
