Drug users are well informed about the harms associated with the drugs they use, and perceive alcohol and tobacco to be amongst the most dangerous substances, according to a survey by UCL (University College London) and Imperial College London researchers. The findings, published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology, suggest that the current system of classifying psychoactive drugs in the UK may need to be revisited.

A Massachuetts jobs commission ordered almost two years ago to find ways to create and maintain jobs in Massachusetts has never met. It has taken them two years just to name the people on the commission! The deadline for the report by the commission has been extended now to June 2012.
By the time the commission meets, makes its report, the Legislature reviews it, acts on it, is implemented, and has time to work, that might be about the time the NEXT downturn in the economy occurs!

More than 1.6 million people were arrested for drug offenses in the US last year, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report 2010, and more than half of them were for marijuana. That's a drug arrest every 19 seconds, 24 hours a day, every day last year. The numbers suggest that despite "no more war on drugs" rhetoric emanating from Washington, the drug war juggernaut is rolling along on cruise control.

"The apocalypse never happened" as some predicted when the country of Portugal decriminalized ALL illegal drugs eight years ago. The country did NOT become a haven for drug use, and drug abuse & drug crime actually FELL.

The UN admits "that the evidence overwhelmingly demonstrates that repressive strategies will not solve the drug problem, and that the war on drugs has not, and cannot, be won."

According to WBTV News, the 11-year old was so effected by the D.A.R.E lessons talk about marijuana that he turned in his parents for using the illegal drug.
